Spanning four sessions over four Tuesday evenings; the 4th, the 11th, the 18th and concluding on the the 25th of May.
Located at the Useful Box Studios in Coburg, Melbourne.

Jump into the rewarding world of woodworking. Whether you've been craving get out of the office to use your hands or if it's something you've wanted to develop for a few years but just didn't know where to start. Here is your chance! These classes invigorate and quench our natural reward systems and leave us inspired to create more.
The course is designed for for two levels of skill; those with and without experience woodworking and working with tools, at all.. For those with experience, I will set a more challenging design with more complicated traditional Japanese joints for you to hone your chiseling and planing detail skills.
We will cover:
Working with hardwood. We will use contrasting Eucalypti. Dark caramel Jarrah or redgum and blonde Victorian ash.
Japanese joints, interlocking legs and rails for the plant stand. View photos here and here
Developing strong skills with the hand plane, smoothing timber
Develop confidence with the chisel
Sanding & finishing
We will also cover all aspects of sharpening and honing our chisels and planes
